Tile Me updated with new Twitter options and handset support

All of the social networks you use — Twitter and Facebook, for example — let you choose a profile picture or a background image, and the same is true of many online message boards. It is easy enough to select a simple photo to use, but if you want to something a little different without having to fiddle about with a complicated image editor, Tile Me! could be what you need.

This is an app that can be used to quickly transform an image into a profile picture or background, and to share your creation with friends, all from your Windows Phone. The previous update to the app added a new Twitter background creator, and this latest version adds support for a number of new handset — specifically the Lumia 521, HTC 8X, HTC 8S and Samsung ATIV S Neo.

There is also now the ability to save Twitter backgrounds locally, and the option to share Twitter backgrounds. It may not be a massive update, but here’s the changelog in full:

  • Added Lumia 521, HTC 8X, HTC 8S and Samsung ATIV S Neo to Twitter background creator
  • Added ability to save Twitter background to phone
  • Added ‘Share’ option to Twitter background
  • You are now asked for permission to post a promo tweet

If you fancy giving the app a try, you can download a free version using the download link below, but there is also a paid-for version available for just $0.99.
