These dancers show off their freestyle moves in this music video recorded entirely by a Lumia 1020

Imagine walking down a busy sidewalk and the person next to you breaks into a dance. You can either step to the side and watch in amazement or be incredibly upset that this person is in your way. If you are the more tolerable type, then chances are you will be impressed.

The idea of “breaking into a dance” is what sparked this project, where some of New York City’s finest dancers show off their freestyle moves on the streets of Manhattan to the upbeat dance track “Sunrise” by Slaptop. And the kicker? The entire music video is shot using a Lumia 1020.

“The entire video was shot on the Nokia 1020. There was no piece of it shot on any other camera or phone. The biggest challenge was finding the right video app. Currently there are no video apps that lock both exposure and focus. That’s the real challenge going forward for anyone shooting anything professional and polished looking on a Windows Phone,” said the man behind the recording process.

The Lumia 1020 is known for its 41MP camera, but it also features 1080p video recording. The video frame rate is 30FPS and features a video zoom of 6x.

You can check out the video below and head over to the VIA link to read the full interview with Dutch, the man behind the recording process. He even offers five tips for shooting the best music video on your Lumia handset.
