The Xiaomi Book S is the latest Windows on ARM device

Chinese brand Xiaomi is getting into the Windows on ARM space. The company just announced the launch of the Xiaomi Book S.

The new Windows 11-powered 2-in-1 is the latest Windows device from Xiaomi and it looks to be a nice competitor to the Surface Pro X (via Neowin.) Priced at €699, the device is one that Xiaomi claims should “elevate your mobile work experience.”

It sports a 12.4-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution touch screen, tuned to the 16:10 aspect ratio with 500 nits total brightness. As for the CPU, it’s the last-gen Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2, which still offers good performance, but not as much as the new 8xc Gen 3 found in the ThinkPad X13s.

Other features onboard include dual 2-watt speakers, and 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. There’s even support for the Xiaomi Smart Pen, and a magnetically attachable keyboard, with the keyboard not being included in the price. Do note, though, that, unlike the Surface Pro X, this is a Wi-Fi-only device, and there are no cellular options, likely as a cost-cutting measure.
