Microsoft is testing out a new feature for its alternative Android keyboard app, SwiftKey. The company is bringing more integrations with its range of products and services, this time Bing is taking the spotlight.
Those using the SwiftKey Beta app on Android will now be able to perform a Bing search right from their keyboard. The search bar displays just above the word suggestions, and it will then open up a window with your search results.
There’s no option to switch the search engine used. Initial reviews from users show that they aren’t too happy with this change, with Chiraag posting a review on the Play Store saying:
Well I’ve used SwiftKey since X and paid for it too. Now Bing is integrated with no option to disable I’ll finally have to force myself to get used to Gboard. Met the OG team back in the day and this is bs. Gboard was quicker to load anyway. Only reason for SwiftKey was size of board and predictions…
To access the new Search feature, make sure you update SwiftKey Beta to version 7.1.7.30 or higher from the Google Play Store.
