Surface RT $150 price cut now live at Microsoft Store, Staples and Best Buy

Surface RT

Earlier this week, we learned that Microsoft was dropping the price on its Surface RT by $150. This meant the Surface RT 32GB would run for $349.99 while the Surface RT 64GB would run for $449.99. It appears that this discount is now live at the online Microsoft Store, Staples, and Best Buy.

Microsoft recently hinted at new Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets, which means this price drop for the current models could be an attempt to get rid of current stock in place for the new models later this year. Staples confirmed the discount a few days ago by posting an advertisement showcasing a discounted Surface RT. Now it appears that this discount is live.

So if you have been holding out for a brand new Surface RT device, powered by Windows RT, head over to the Microsoft Store to check out the device starting at $349. Staples is also offering the 32GB Surface RT for $349 with free shipping. Best Buy is also offering the 32GB Surface RT for $350 with free shipping.

If you plan on making the purchase, you might want to do it as soon as possible. The Surface RT might be sold out in the next few hours, given the $150 price drop. Let us know in the comments below if you purchased a new Surface RT today, thanks to the discount. No word yet on a price drop to the Surface Pro.
