Surface Pro and MacBook Air storage space compared, turns out they are nearly identical

Surface Pro MacBook Air

One of the biggest gripes about Microsoft’s new Surface Pro tablet is the lack of storage space. When the Surface RT made its debut, critics all over the internet made their voice heard about having less-than-advertised storage space. Now, with the recent release of the Surface Pro, these criticisms are back.

When compared to Apple’s MacBook Air 128GB, the Microsoft Surface Pro 128GB is nearly identical in storage space. “The MacBook Air 128 gives you 77.3 percent of the advertised storage space for user data. The Surface Pro 128 gives you 75.2 percent of its advertised capacity for storing data. And with one minor tweak that doesn’t affect the system’s capabilities in any way, you can increase the amount of data storage space on the Surface Pro to 81.8% of the advertised capacity,” the report adds. This pretty much debunks the idea that the Surface Pro has less space than an Apple-equivalent product. The report also indicates that both Apple and Microsoft report disc space in a different manner. Microsoft actually reports the full disk size while Apple does not. Hit the source link for the full in-depth look at how Apple and Microsoft measures disc space.
