After pushing out a much-needed patch for display driver issues occurring on the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, the Windows team is now releasing a relatively low-key cumulative update for the rest of Windows 10 users.
Windows 10 users should be soon seeing an update for Windows 10 version 1511 for x64 based systems, more specifically, (KB3116908) sitting in their Windows Update settings. The download and install time of the update is relatively quick and the details for what the update is fixing, addressing, patching or securing remains a mystery.
Windows 10 version 1511 has brought its fair share of feature rich updates while also delivering some users a head-scratching experience. As far as today’s cumulative update is concerned, it seems a bit early to render a verdict as there are no release notes for the update and few reports from Windows users to pull from. We do know that the build number is now 10586.17 after installing the update.
We’ll update as soon as more information about the update surfaces. In the meantime, check your Windows Update settings to see if the download is available for you and let us know if you notice anything worth reporting.
Thanks for the tip Jim.
