Microsoft is currently rolling out a series for the users of the first and second-generation models of the Surface Laptop. Specifically, the Surface Laptop 1 updates bring a host of fixes, including improvements to graphics performance, security, and overall system stability. Here’s a look at the release notes from the Surface update history page:
- Intel(R) HD Graphics – Display adapters: Improves graphics and system stability.
- Intel(R) ICLS Client – Extension: Addresses security updates and improves system stability.
- Intel(R) ICLS Client – Software devices: Addresses security updates and improves system stability.
- Intel(R) Management Engine Interface – System devices: Addresses security updates and improves system stability.
- Surface ME – Firmware: Addresses security updates and improves system stability.
The updates for the second-generation Surface Laptop are mostly identical, including the same graphics performance updates with a different version number (27.20.100.8681). However, the Surface Laptop 2 is receiving an additional fix for the Intel Display Graphics Adapter that fixes security and stability issues. Here is the changelog for the additional firmware update:
