Super Bomberman R Online launches next week on PC, PS4, and Switch, Xbox gamers will have to wait

Super Bomberman R Online, the free-to-play action-maze game that launched exclusively on Google Stadia last year is finally coming to more platforms next week. Indeed, the game will reach a much bigger player base when it launches on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch next week, but the Xbox version of the game still has no release date.

Super Bomberman R Online is a new battle royale version of the original Super Bomberman R game that launched a couple of years ago (including on Xbox consoles), and it will allow up to 64 players across all platforms to blast it out together. The upcoming cross-play support should hopefully address the matchmaking issues that Stadia players have been encountering since launch.

It’s a bit disappointing for Xbox gamers to not get Super Bomberman R Online on May 27, but it is what it is. Xbox gamers are also still missing fun multiplayer games such as Among Us and Fall Guys, though both of them have been announced for Xbox with no release date.

Super Bomberman R Online will adopt the same Season and Battle Pass systems that many free-to-play games have adopted to keep players engaged over time, with an optional Gold Pass offering exclusive rewards. You can check out Super Bomberman R Online on Google Stadia today, where it remains one of the rare free-to-play games alongside Bungie’s Destiny 2.
