Someone hacked a Nexus 5X to run Windows 10 Mobile

According to video posted on YouTube, it looks like someone succeeded in making Windows 10 Mobile run on a Google Nexus 5X Android smartphone (via Slashgear). In the low-res video posted yesterday, you can see someone using the handset that looks to be set in the Chinese language. While the phone doesn’t appear to have a SIM card in it, we can see the user browsing different apps (including the Windows Store) without experiencing any bugs or stutters.

Back in July 2015, the same YouTube user had also posted a video about an unknown Meizu phone running a preview version of Windows 10 Mobile. However, a few things in that Nexus 5X video look suspicious to us: first, this handset doens’t feature the “Nexus” branding on its back:

This Nexus 5X doesn't have any Nexus branding on its back.

Furthermore, the phone appears to be running Windows 10 Mobile 10568.0, a build pre-release version that Microsoft didn’t even release publicly (back in October 2015, the company first released the build 10549.4 on October 14 then followed with the build 10572 a week later).

This Nexus 5X runs Windows 10 Mobile build 10568, a build Microsoft never released.

So, while this video definitely looks interesting, please watch it with caution as we have yet to know if such a hack is really possible. Please tell us in the comments what to you think of this video.
