You can now go to Microsoft Online Store US and get yourself a unlocked Lumia 950 directly from Microsoft, reports Windows Central.
The unlocked Lumia 950 on offer is the black version (no white yet,) and will set you back $549, for which you will get a 5.2″ WQHD display, a 20MP camera with ZEISS optics, 32GB storage expandable up to 200GB with a MicroSD card, a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, 3GB of RAM and of course, the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile.
The unlocked Lumia 950XL, previously reported to also be available for purchase in both black and white for $649, is now back to an email-when-available basis, with shipping date set for December 11. Interestingly, only the Lumia 950 XL is shown to be elligible for a free Microsoft Display Dock – allowing use of the much-touted Continuum feature – via the Lumia Offers app “while supplies last;” no such offer is present on the Lumia 950 page.
Featuring a slightly larger 5.7″ screen and slightly faster octa-core Qualcomm 810 processor, the Lumia 950XL, while probably worth the wait for people who value more screen estate, is not an essential upgrade over its smaller sibling; the Lumia 950 should be a great, more immediate option for those craving the premium Windows Mobile experience that fans have been waiting for far too long.
