Slacker Radio app

For those unaware, Slacker is an awesome source of streaming music and is a great alternative to other music station services. Slacker has rolled out a new update to its Windows 8 app that offers performance improvements as well as interface changes.

“Slacker is the most complete music service on Earth. With millions of songs and hundreds of expert-programmed stations Slacker gives listeners anytime, anywhere access to the world’s best music and entertainment. Listen for free on your Windows 8 device or subscribe and enjoy a commercial-free experience with offline listening and on-demand access to millions of songs and albums,” the app description reads.

You can listen for free with no monthly listening limits or snag a subscription. Slacker allows you to listen to any genre of music and create your own playlists, with song skipping and custom station creation. The free service features commercials while the paid subscription service is ad-free.

The Slacker Radio app even utilizes Windows 8’s Share charm to share what you are listening to, as well as the Search charm to easily search for an artist or song. You can even pin a station to your Start Screen for easy listening.

The update to the Slacker Radio app for Windows 8 includes numerous user interface improvements and performance enhancements, according to the app’s description page in the Windows Store. No details on exactly what was changed. Grab the app from the download link below and let us know if you notice anything new.
