Skype app for BlackBerry Z10

Recently, Microsoft released the Skype app for the BlackBerry Q10. Now, as the BlackBerry 10.1 operating system rolls out, Microsoft has announced the availability of the Skype app for BlackBerry Z10.

The app is currently in “preview” form and allows you to enjoy all the features that come with Skype. Users can talk to their loves ones using free video and voice calling, as well as use text or video messages. Microsoft will be working with BlackBerry over the next few months to improve the performance of the app and take it out of “preview” stage.

For those wondering, the Skype app for BlackBerry Z10 does integrate with the operating system’s phone book as well as the BlackBerry Hub. Skype notifications, such as incoming chat, contact invite request, etc, are also automatically visible in the BlackBerry Hub.

The Skype app for BlackBerry Z10, which was released a little while back, was met with negative criticism. Apparently, it wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be just yet, with constant lag, unresponsive taps, and chats that take forever to update. On top of that, the notifications seemed to ignore device audio settings. Hopefully, that is not the case with this new app for Z10. Hit the download link below to snag it.
