Skype 5.2 for iPhone released, supports Voice Messaging and Profiles

Microsoft has rolled out a new version of Skype for iPhone, bumping the version number to 5.2. In this version, Microsoft had added features requested by consumers – Voice Messaging support and Profiles.

“We have been reading and listening to your feedback ever since we launched the new remastered Skype for iPhone and have been hard at work incorporating your suggestions. With Skype 5.1 for iPhone we included the ability to delete a conversation, edit a message and added a “Skype”-only contact filter, to name a few. Today, Skype 5.2 for iPhone adds more of the features you want most,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Now, when you receive a new voice message from someone, it will show up in the conversation. To listen, just press play. You can also tap on any contact in your people list and then select their profile from the “…” menu, and your contact’s mood message, Skype name, birthday, location, and more will be available. If you are in a conversation with that person, you can just tap on the contact name in the header to bring up their profile. You can even add more participants into a conversation.

Microsoft is planning on adding more new features to future versions of Skype for iPhone, based on your feedback. So keep sending it in!
