The latest Sea of Thieves Adventure goes live today, November 3rd. The following is a sneak peek at what you can expect in the game’s ninth Adventure, titled “Return of the Damned.”

The resurrection of Skeleton Lord Captain Flameheart is at hand as his loyal followers in The Reaper’s Bones attempt to complete their ritual.

The Pirate Lord’s allies have different plans however, and have a scheme to banish Captain Flameheart for good…by putting Captain Pendragon’s life on the line with a ritual of their own.

Sea of Thieves players must choose a side in this Adventure. The future of the Sea of Thieves hangs in the balance.

Claim the Sea Forts

The goal for each side in this conflict is to collect the Bewitching Dolls (for the respective rituals) found in six Sea Forts scattered throughout the Sea of Thieves. Since these Bewitching Dolls draw their power from the Sea Forts that house them, it is most advantageous to hand them in to either Captain Flameheart or Belle while your side controls all six Sea Forts.

Players will have to think strategically here—go after another fort?, defend the ones you already control?, the choice will be up to you.

The Adventure is included in the game’s latest update. The update is free for all who have bought Sea of Thieves on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10/11 and PC Steam, and for those who have access to the game via Game Pass.
