Scout GPS Maps app for Windows Phone 8 updated, gets live traffic and offline maps

Scout GPS Maps app for Windows Phone 8 has received an update, adding support for live traffic and offline maps. You can also get real-time commuting on your Start screen with Live tiles and on the Lock screen.

“Join the community of millions of drivers using award-winning Scout, your personalized mapping and GPS navigation travel application for Windows Phone 8. Whether it’s your daily commute or discovery of local events, travel like a boss with Scout, packed with current maps, traffic features and voice-guided directions to nearby restaurants, cheap gas, and more!” the app description reads.

In this new update, the build number has been bumped to 1.3.0.13 and the following new features have been added:

  • Local, Live Traffic from 100+ million traffic sensors
  • Offline Maps to help save data and drive out of coverage
  • Ratings & Reviews from TripAdvisor & Yelp
  • Real-time Commute using Live Tiles and on the Lock Screen

A free version of the app is available for download, with the paid version offering voice command features, voice turn-by-turn directions, and maps with red-light cameras and traffic flows.
