Samsung ATIV S Neo To Launch Aug 16th On Sprint, Is The Carriers Second Windows Phone Device – onmsft.com

On Friday, August 16th, Sprint will begin carrying its second Windows Phone 8 device, called the Samsung ATIV S Neo. For those curious, this device is being touted as the first Windows Phone 8 device from Sprint with international roaming capabilities. The device runs for $150 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.

“Designed to appeal to casual shutterbugs, the phone comes with a bunch of preloaded photo apps, including Beauty Shot for smoother looking skin in headshots, Manga Camera for turning friends and family into cartoons, and Photo Editor for editing, fixing up, and sharing your pics,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

For those of you on Sprint, will this be your next Windows Phone device? Here are the specs of the device, straight from Sprint’s press release:

  • Sprint 4G LTE
  • 1.4GHz dual-core processor (Qualcomm MSM8930AA)
  • 4.8-inch HD display
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera for video chat
  • 3G/4G LTE mobile hotspot capability supporting up to eight WiFi enabled devices simultaneously
  • Microsoft Office  Hub gives you read/edit access to popular Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), plus Sharepoint for collaboration on the go and OneNote
  • Corporate email (Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync), personal (POP & IMAP) email and text messaging
  • Full HTML Web browser with Bing Search
  • Near Field Communication (NFC)
  • ATIV Beam makes it easy to share photos/music/video with other devices through NFC and Bluetooth®
  • WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • International roaming – GSM: 850MHz, 900MHz, 1,800MHz and 1,900MHz; HSPA+/UMTS: 1,900MHz and 2,100MHz; Data roaming: GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA+ and WCDMA
