Adobe Creativity Suite 6 to ship soon, upgrade policy changed again – onmsft.com

Adobe has just confirmed that its highly anticipated Creativity Suite 6 will indeed ship in the first half of 2012. On top of that, the company has also change its mind on who can receive an upgrade offer.

“With these great new releases coming in the first half of 2012, we want to make sure our customers have plenty of time to determine which offering is best for them. Therefore, we’re pleased to announce that we will offer special introductory upgrade pricing on Creative Suite 6 to customers who own CS3 or CS4. This offer will be available from the time CS6 is released until December 31, 2012,” Adobe mentions on its website.

Creativity Suite 6 is set to be “a major new release of our creative desktop tools, with huge improvements for every type of creative professional” and will likely include Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, InDesign CS6, After Effects CS6, Premiere Pro CS6, Flash Pro CS6, Dreamweaver CS6 and more.

With the new trend of moving everything to the cloud, Adobe will be including Creative Cloud, which is the company’s take on online project sharing. Adobe may also include its Touch apps for tablets, such as Photoshop Touch, Collage, Debut, Ideas, Kuler, and Pronto. These apps are already available for Android tablets, but not yet on the Apple iPad.

Adobe changed its mind on offering a discount only to CS5 and CS5.5 owners by stating that owners of CS3 and CS4 can also jump in on the discounted pricing.

We also learned recently that Adobe’s popular flagship digital imaging software, Photoshop, is set to receive new features such as a darker interface theme, new 3D capabilities, autosave, and several tool additions.

Adobe Creativity Suite 6 is set for release soon and introductory offers for existing customers to move to Creative Cloud membership will be announced soon as well.
