It’s been a month now since Microsoft started rolling out the Windows 10 October 2020 Update, and the latest AdDuplex survey reveals that it’s finally close to a double-digit usage share. Indeed, the October 2020 update is now running on 8.8% of Windows 10 PCs, up 7.7% points compared to last month.
At 37.6%, the Windows 10 May 2020 Update still remains the most popular version of the OS, followed by the November 2019 Update at 36.4%. Only 10.2% of Windows 10 PCs are still running the May 2019 update, and older versions of the OS, including the October 2018 update, all have a single-digit usage share in AdDuplex’s stats this month.
As it turns out, adoption for the Windows 10 October 2020 Update began ramping up during the last few weeks, and you can see that the May 2020 usage has been shrinking quickly. This update is a minor release overall, and it brings minor improvements to the Start Menu, notifications, and the TaskBar. As usual, the AdDuplex data is based on around 100,000 Windows 10 PCs the ad network surveyed in November, and the actual figures might be a bit different.
