AdDuplex: Nokia Lumia 520 Is Still The Dominant Windows Phone Device As Of Aug 2013 – onmsft.com

Adduplex stats for August 2013

According to new data from AdDuplex, Nokia’s Lumia 520 continues its domination in the Windows Phone market, having more market share than any other Windows Phone device. Nokia’s recently released Lumia 1020 is faring well, even though it is only a few weeks old.

Nokia currently controls more than 85% of the Windows Phone 8 market, with the Lumia 520 being the most popular Windows Phone device, according to this data. While the big talk this past week was the release of the GDR2 and Nokia Amber update, only 3% of smartphones have this update installed. This includes the phones that had it pre-installed, such as the Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020.

“The biggest question everyone is asking is how the critically acclaimed Nokia Lumia 1020 is doing. It has been on the market for only few weeks and only in the US, so it’s no surprise that it doesn’t show up in top 10. It’s actually at number 32 worldwide (no.16 for WP8-only, no.17 in US),” AdDuplex stated in its report. This isnt surprising since the Lumia 1020 has only been available for purchase in US and only on one carrier.

You can head over to the source link to see more pie charts and stats for the Windows Phone platform. Which Windows Phone device do you own and have you received the GDR2 update yet?
