Microsoft OneDrive is bringing on a new feature dubbed OneDrive photo story according to a Tech Community post from Microsoft. The interactive feature allows users to share treasured moments with those that matter most.
At the moment, the feature is already “available in beta in Australia on the OneDrive mobile app for Android and iOS, and from your favorite web browser”. Besides being in Australia, you also need to be under one of the following plans: OneDrive Basic 5GB (free), OneDrive Standalone 100GB, Microsoft 365 Personal, or Microsoft 365 Family.
Unlike the story feature on Facebook and Instagram, OneDrive’s photo story focuses on sharing these moments with friends and family only. This makes it more intimate as compared to someone that shares stories on social media platforms, which is open to viewership by the public audience.
Furthermore, the user will get absolute control over who gets to view their content. It comes with an invite-only kind of arrangement, thus ensuring that your most treasured and special moments remain private. The feature also supports “comments, reactions, and notifications to spur authentic interactions through photos that people actually care about”.
Therefore, if you are looking to access this feature, all you have to do is download the mobile application and sign up if you do not already have an account. Once you sign in, tap on the Shared tab where you will be able to create your photo story. For those using it on the web, you need to click on the Shared tab from the left navigation bar.
The feature is expected to roll out in the U.S. as well as other regions later in the year. It is also worth noting that you will not be able to access the feature if you are using a OneDrive work or school account.
