Microsoft has announced a revamp of its Office Lens app this morning, with the document scanning application to be rebranded as Microsoft Lens. Notably, the branding changes come with a new Fluent Design icon and many new dynamic capabilities for Android and iOS devices.

The first change that the company highlighted today is the addition of new intelligent productivity features to the camera. The list includes Image to Table, Image to Text, Immersive Reader, Image to Contact, and QR Code Scan. In addition to this, the company noted that it’s also enhancing the scanning experience for mobile users.

“We are releasing an improved scan experience allowing you to re-order pages, re-edit scanned PDFs, apply a filter to all images in the document, scan up to 100 pages as images or PDFs, easily switch between local and cloud locations while saving PDF, along with an easy way to identify local and cloud files,” the company explained.

Microsoft says that these changes should make it easier for users to seamlessly work on their documents, photos, and videos in several Microsoft 365 mobile apps, such as Office, Teams, Outlook, and the OneDrive storage service.

Keep in mind that these new capabilities and improvements are only coming to Android users for now, with the iOS app to follow in the coming months. In case you missed it, the company removed Office Lens from the Microsoft Store last month, but it is still available and fully-functional on iOS and Android. You can download the latest version of the app today from Google Play or the App Store using the links below.
