Microsoft has released today a new Windows Feature Experience Pack for Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview channels. Microsoft has been using this new process to ship new feature improvements to Windows Insiders instead of forcing them to install full builds, and today’s update will once again be available via Windows Update.
The only change in the new Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3740.0 is that Microsoft has removed nonfunctional hyperlinks from being displayed in the Input Method Editor (IME) candidate window. Please note that today’s update is optional for Release Preview Insiders, and it’s also not available for commercial devices in the Release Preview Channel.
In addition to this new Windows Feature Experience pack, Microsoft has also released the cumulative update Build 21364.1011 (KB5003402) for Insiders in the Dev Channel, but this is just another servicing pipeline test. There are no new features or bug fixes in this build, as the Windows Insider team is only testing its ability to release servicing updates on top of previous servicing updates.
The Windows 10 Insider build 21364 released last week included several new features including Linux GUI apps support and a new Eco Mode for Task Manager. We hope to see another Dev Channel flight later this week with more new features, though we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
