New Windows 10 builds on the horizon: Mobile, desktop or both?

Oh Gabe, ever teasing us so. Microsoft’s Gabe Aul took to Twitter today to confirm the imminent approach of a new Windows 10 Insider build, or builds, number 10547, in a series of potentially confusing questions and answers. Here is our intepretation.

Replying last night to a poking suspection from Twitter user @callum90ish about a new PC build, Gabe revealed that one is in fact in “internal Slow ring,” though it won’t be ready for tomorrow. The build turned to be number 10547, as confirmed in his next answer. The exchange is as follows:

@callum90ish We do have a build in our internal Slow ring now, but it won’t be ready tomorrow.

— Gabriel Aul (@GabeAul) September 17, 2015

Another question tweet came this morning, from user @Hari_Windows10F, this time about a mobile build, which is not as far along in the process, but still in the pipeline:

@Hari_Windows10F 10547 is now in our internal Fast ring.

Overall, it can be assumed that two versions of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10547 are in internal testing, and there is a high chance we will see them in the upcoming days. For now, however, we will have to leave you with another of Gabe Aul’s answers as a somewhat melancholic conclusion:

@Rohan_Sohonee No new builds today

Update: Gabe responded to our question about the somewhat confusing set of tweets, saying that both mobile and desktop builds are in ring testing “Both. Builds with same # are produced at the same time, but progress through mobile/pc rings independently.”
