6tag for Windows Phone 8 receives new update, lets you hide sponsored Instagram ads

\

For those of you who use the 6tag app on Windows Phone 8, there is a new update available that allows you to hide the sponsored Instagram ads. 6tag has become a popular third-party Instagram app for the Windows Phone platform, since Instagram has yet to release an official app for their service.

\

\

\

\

\

“6tag is the most full featured Instagram app for Windows Phone. Upload picture and videos on Instagram, apply filters, tag your friends, view posts on a map, and more,” the app description reads. Thusfar, the app has received nearly 40,000 reviews with the majority of them being nearly five stars.

\

Sponsored advertisements have begun to appear in the Instagram timeline and since this app is a third-party app, the ability to hide ads is possible. We will see if this will last, however.

\

The app is now at build 2.2.0.0 and you can download it from the download link below. Grab it and let us know in the comments below if you notice any other new features or performance improvements. Were you able to hide the sponsored ads?
