May 21st was the day we all learned about the new Xbox One. For those of you who love to game on consoles, there is one big question that sits on your mind.. is the Xbox One better than the PS4?

The good folks over at Anandtech have put together a comprehensive comparison between the upcoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The analysis compares the two devices based on what we currently know, to determine who is the winner.

Both console devices utilize an eight-core AMD Jaguar processor, but there is a difference between the consoles when it comes to graphics power. The Xbox One features 768 graphics cores while the Playstation 4 features 1,152 graphics cores. As for Teraflops are concerned, the Xbox One dishes out 1.23 Teraflops, while the PlayStation 4 dishes out 1.84 Teraflops.

When it comes to system memory, the Xbox One features 8GB of 2133MHz DDR3 RAM compared to the PlayStation 4’s 8GB of 5500MHz GDDR5 memory. The data on what kind of embedded memory and its bandwidth for the PS4 are currently unknown. Take a look at the chart showcasing the specs of both devices:

So based on what we currently know, the winner between Xbox One vs PlayStation 4 is Sony’s PlayStation 4. While both devices are unique in their own sense, in terms of specs and raw power, the PS4 is the winner. Regardless of specs, Microsoft is dishing out one hell of a beast featuring voice capabilities via a Kinect sensor and this powerhouse is expected later this year.
