Microsoft's Bing News and Translator apps for Windows Phone 8 receive new updates

Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out a plethora of updates to its Bing suite of apps for Windows Phone 8. Today, Microsoft has rolled out yet another update to the Bing News app – albeit a minor update – as well as an update to the Bing Translator app for Windows Phone 8.

“The beautiful, photo-rich Bing News app makes it easy to stay up to date on the news that matters most to you. Designed for Windows Phone, the News app lets you easily choose your favorite news sources. Swipe through for a quick read of the headlines. Go deep with personalized coverage of the topics you’re passionate about. Or, search the day’s stories from your choice of trusted sources from around the world,” the Bing News app description reads.

The Bing News app has been bumped to version 3.0.2.263 and the update is minor, likely addressing bugs. On the flip side, the Bing Translator app has been bumped to version 2.9.0.0 and features the addition of a wide live tile, camera translation for Czech, Greek, Hungarian, Polish and Turkish, as well as offline translation for Polish and Turkish, and online translation for Maltese and Welsh.

“Bing Translator is your companion when you need to overcome the language barrier. Use your camera, voice or keyboard to enter text you want to translate. Use Bing Translator on-the-go, even when you don’t have an Internet connection,” the app description reads.
