Microsoft welcomes FIFA World Cup 2014 with Destination Brazil, features soccer updates and original series

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2014, Microsoft has made several announcements today. The company will launch two new features for Xbox One on June 12th as part of its “Destination Brazil” hub. Microsoft will also be launching a “Brazil Now” app and debut the “Every Street United”, an original Xbox series showcasing the best football players from around the world.

Brazil Now is an Xbox One app which will provide score updates, schedules, stats, live social media feed, interactive poll, alerts and other relevant data on your console. An interesting feature is that you will be able to “Snap” this reservoir of information to the right side of the screen, preferably using the left to watch the game.

“Every Street United” is an original Xbox One series – part of the several original productions that will become available in the coming days. The series will showcase the “most gifted, undiscovered street stars” from across the globe. It starts airing on June 15. The first episode will be accessible to all for free via Xbox Video, or the “Every Street United” app. Also, the talent search hosted by Thierry Henry and Edgar Davids will find the 8 best street footballers, who will go on against each other in a mini tournament.

“Destination Brazil” will be a hub page accessible through the Xbox One dashboard. It will also provide you quick access to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: FIFA World Cup. If that wasn’t enough, grab any Microsoft gaming console – Xbox One or Xbox 360 at your nearest Microsoft Store and you will be presented with a mini Xbox soccer ball.
