Microsoft touts Internet Explorer 9 as the browser of choice, attacks Google again

In yet another attack towards Google, Microsoft is touting it’s Internet Explorer 9 as the browser of choice. On top of that, Microsoft claims Internet Explorer is the browser that respects your privacy and puts you in charge, unlike Google’s Chrome browser.

“IE9 is the browser designed to give Windows 7 customers the fastest, safest, and most private browsing experience – putting the focus on the thing that matters most – your favorite sites,” Microsoft states in an official blog post.

Microsoft goes on to say that if your personal information is important to you, especially when online, Internet Explorer is the browser that respects your privacy. Internet Explorer offers privacy features not found in other browsers and allows you to keep control of who is tracking your online actions, not advertisers. Microsoft also links to an article on the Washington Post that talks about Google’s privacy changes and how users cannot opt-out. This is a clear attack towards Google.

With the recent changes in privacy policies that Google has ushered across its line of products and not offering any opt-out, users have raised concern over the lack of privacy and choices. For these users grappling with the changes, Microsoft has been advertising “better alternatives” to Google products as well as recently releasing a video that “shows you” just how much Google cares more about advertising revenue than privacy.

Microsoft also believes that Internet Explorer 9 loads sites “crazy fast” unlike “two other well-known browsers.” Microsoft then links to a website that goes over how Google’s Chrome browser isn’t all that its cracked up to be.

The company then goes into online safety and states that Internet Explorer 9 will protect you from the threats faced on the web such as dangerous downloads, phishing websites, or harmful links, better than any other browser. Microsoft then links to another website that talks about how Google’s Chrome browser has no password protection mechanism.

Microsoft reiterates that Internet Explorer 9 is the browser of choice and allows you to experience the safest, fastest, and most reliable way to browse the web on Windows. Anyone agree? Lets see what Google has to say about this.
