Microsoft has acknowledged this morning that Microsoft Teams users in the Asia Pacific region are currently experiencing issues with the app. An hour ago, the Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account shared that Teams users in Asia may be unable to change their status within the app.

However, in a second tweet published a couple of minutes ago, Microsoft confirmed that this Teams outage was also affecting messaging functionalities.

Further investigation revealed additional impact related to this Incident, like sending and receiving messages in Teams. You can follow the investigation under the SI# TM211076 in the admin center.

Microsoft will share updates about this outage in the Microsoft 365 Admin center, but we also invite you to follow the Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account for live updates. Usage of Microsoft Teams has significantly increased since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and millions of Microsoft 365 users across the world rely on the app every day to get work done. It’s still hard to know if many Teams users in the Asia Pacific region are currently affected by this outage, but we’ll update this post once we hear anything new.
