SharePoint Framework, Developer, Preview

Back in June of 2016, Microsoft officially released a SharePoint app for iOS, and shortly later a preview version for Windows 10 Mobile. At the time, the company also mentioned that an Android version of the app would be coming soon. Today, the Windows Blog WithMSFT has learned that a preview of the Microsoft SharePoint app has shown up in the Google Play Store, hinting at an official Android release soon.

The SharePoint app helps you keep your work moving forward by providing quick access to your team sites, organization portals and resources, and the people you work with in Office 365, and search for content and people in your organization. A sign into the SharePoint app requires that your organization to have an Office 365 subscription (Enterprise, Education, Government and DvNext) that includes SharePoint Online. According to the Google Play listing, features of the Android version of the SharePoint app include the following:

• Get to team sites and intranet portals you visit frequently or follow, as well as promoted resources (Links) programmed by your organization
• View team site activity based on recent and popular files
• Gain full access to your document libraries using the new integration with the OneDrive app. Edit your files easily using Office Mobile apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
• Find and browse for people you frequently work with. Tap on a user to get to their profile card to see who they work with, and what they are working on
• And you can always perform an Enterprise Search to find sites, files and people throughout your organization. Suggested content from Microsoft Graph pops up as you type

If your Office 365 account qualifys you to use this app, you can check it out via the link below. Once you’ve checked it out, be sure to come back to WinBeta and let us know how the experience is going for you by dropping us a comment in the section below.
