Microsoft sells 166,000 Xbox 360 consoles in October of 2013

Microsoft has revealed new data, via NPD, for the company’s Xbox 360 console. In the month of October, the Xbox 360 was the top selling console in the United States, beating out its competition from Nintendo and Sony.

In fact, according to the data, 166,000 Xbox 360 units were sold for the month of October alone. Retail spending on the Xbox 360 platform, which includes spending on hardware, software, and accessories, totaled $283 million dollars. This was the most for any console in the United States.

\

Also during the month of October, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 held five of the top ten console game titles, including: “Batman: Arkham Origins,” “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag,” “Battlefield 4,” “NBA 2K14,” and “Grand Theft Auto V.”

\

It is great to see such enthusiasm for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, as evident from the data. Microsoft has been offering special holiday Xbox 360 bundles in an attempt to further boost sales for the Xbox 360 plaform since the new Xbox One entertainment console is set to launch on November 22nd. The Xbox One will launch initially in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
