It’s been a long time since Microsoft unveiled a high-end Windows Phone device. Many Windows Phone fans have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to see a flagship device, but all we’ve received from the Redmond-based company in the past few months are budget-friendly devices carrying almost a similar set of specifications.
We do know that a flagship device is in works, but it’s not coming out before Windows 10 for phones is officially launched. However, a new report from UnleashThePhones hint at not one, but two new flagship devices. The folks at the publication received a tip for a source who provided them with accurate information in the past as well, and revealed the specifications both devices will come with.
The first in line is a device codenamed Cityman which comes with a massive 5.7-inch display boasting a QHD resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The alleged device is also expected to feature a microSD card slot for extra storage, 20MP rear camera for photos and videos, 5MP front-facing camera, and a massive 3,300 mAh battery. This could very well be a Lumia 1520 successor, but there’s no word about the official name of the device. Furthermore, the report doesn’t mention which Qualcomm model will be used, but Snapdragon 810 is a possibility.
The second is a device codenamed Talkman, which will come with a 5.2-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM, a 6-core Snapdragon processor, 32GB of storage, 20 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front facing camera, and a 3000 mAh removable battery.
Furthermore, the report continues to mentioned that Microsoft will reveal a new Windows 10 feature for phones which will be similar to Handoff in iOS, allowing users to answer Windows Phone calls on their Windows PC — this will definitely be handy.
Before you get too excited, it’s not coming anytime soon, not before Microsoft is completely done with Windows 10. So, second half of the year can possibly be the time when Microsoft will take wraps off the two flagship devices. Until then, just take it as a rumor.
