Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview

Microsoft has released the Remote Desktop Preview for Windows Phone 8.1, which give users the ability to control their computer using their Windows Phone 8.1 device. The app only works with users running the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview, which is even available for free for non-developers as well. The app offers rich multi-touch experience with remote desktop protocol and RemoteFX supporting Windows gestures, ability to stream HQ video and sound streaming with improved compression and bandwidth usage, and more.

“With the Microsoft Remote Desktop app, you can connect to a remote PC and experience the power of Windows with RemoteFX in a Remote Desktop client designed to help you get your work done wherever you are,” the app description reads.

Here’s a list of features the app has to offer to Windows Phone users:

  • Rich multi-touch experience with remote desktop protocol (RDP) and RemoteFX supporting Windows gestures
  • Secure connection to your data and applications with breakthrough Network Level Authentication (NLA) technology
  • Simple management of all remote connections from the connection center
  • High quality video and sound streaming with improved compression and bandwidth usage

Head over to the Windows Phone Store and grab the Microsoft Remote Desktop app.

Thanks Abster for the tip!
