Microsoft has released an easy, one-click Fix it patch for Internet Explorer 8 addressing vulnerability that allows for remote code execution. This temporary fix-it is being released before the scheduled May 2013 Patch Tuesday scheduled for May 14th.
“The Fix it is an effort to help protect as many customers as possible, as quickly as possible. We continue to work on a security update to address this issue and we’re closely monitoring the threat landscape,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Microsoft has released this fix to “address the known attack vectors.”
This Fix-it patch is available to all who run Internet Explorer 8 and does not require a reboot. Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 9, and Internet Explorer 10 are not affected by this vulnerability.
