Microsoft releases new firmware updates for Surface Laptop Go and Surface Laptop 1 and 2 – onmsft.com

Microsoft has released a slew of firmware updates for its Surface devices, specifically, the first and second-generation models of the Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop Go. These updates are mostly focused on improving the overall stability of the system and also bring a bunch of fixes.

For the owners of the Surface Laptop Go devices, this batch aims to enhance the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection reliability and battery telemetry. In addition, these firmware updates also address some security vulnerabilities, and you can get more details in the full release notes below:

  • Surface System Aggregator– Firmware: 6.304.139.0 Improves battery telemetry.
  • Intel(R) ICLS Client – Software devices: 1.62.321.1 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) Management Engine Interface – System: 2102.100.0.1044 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Surface ME – Firmware: 13.0.1763.5 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz – Network adapters: 22.40.0.7 Improves Wi-Fi connection reliability.
  • Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth – Bluetooth: 22.40.0.2 Improves BT connection reliability.
  • Surface Hid Mini Driver – System: 3.31.139.0 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Surface Integration Service Device – System devices: 6.119.139.0 Improves integration between system services and improves system stability.
  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 9.101.140.0 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.

The first-generation and second-generation Surface Laptops are receiving the same bits that bring stability and security improvements. You can get more details in the full release notes below:

  • Surface ME – Firmware: 11.8.86.3877 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) Management Engine Interface – System: 2102.100.0.1044 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Surface Integration Service Device – System devices: 6.119.139.0 Improves integration between system services and improves system stability.
  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 138.3732.768.0 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.

As usual, the June 2021 firmware releases are rolling out in a staggered manner to all Surface models, which means that not everyone will see these bits right away. The software gaint has recently updated a bunch of other Surface devices, including the Surface Pro X with SQ1 and SQ2 processors, Surface Book 3, and Surface Laptop 3.
