Terminator Genisys advertised on Xbox 360

Microsoft has partnered with Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, and MEC to promote Terminator Genisys, an action-packed science fiction movie produced by Paramount and Skydance with Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the Terminator. The advertising campaign for the film will be running on Xbox, MSN, and Skype. Ads for the movie will also be promoted in various parts of the world including the UK, Australia, France,  Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan.

The campaign featured and Xbox 360 exclusive trailer that was an interactive and featured a cursor driven target with Terminator vision. Users of the Xbox 360 could go to different scenes in the trailer and find detailed information about some of the characters in the movie. And for the first time, the campaign featured a 24-hour channel that took multiple tiles on the Xbox One and 360, including the TV & Video tile along with others. The trailer was a result of Paramount Pictures and Microsoft Creative Technologies coming together.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Terminator, it was a best selling movie that came out in the 80’s. An advanced human-like robot called the Terminator travels from the year 2029 to 1984 with the mission to kill a woman named Sarah Connor. The original mission is to keep Sarah from giving birth to her future son John, who in the future, leads a team of soldiers that save the world from a future where machines have taking over the world. In order to prevent this from happening, one of John’s best soldiers, Kyle Reese traveled to 1984 with the mission to stop the Terminator.

Terminator Genisys released in theaters in standard format as well as IMAX 3D and Real 3D just a week ago. It’s the fifth installment of the original movie and stars Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
