A new report indicates that the popular Microsoft productivity suite Office is expected to be released for the iPad very soon as a new test build has been uncovered showcasing a Metro interface and indicating four apps that will be a part of the suite.

According to a report by The Daily, a test build of Office for iPad was uncovered and the productivity suite contains several Office applications such as Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. On top of that, the interface is similar to the one currently in OneNote and has a hint of Metro. Documents can be created and edited locally or online.

A previous report indicated that Microsoft was working on an Office app for the iPad and that it would be released sometime this year.

“An exact launch date is unknown, but the design team has since wrapped up the project, meaning it could be released in the coming weeks,” the report states.

Nothing has been confirmed yet so stay tuned as more information breaks.
