Last week, Microsoft introduced the affordable Surface 3 tablets which is set to hit 26 markets by next month. This time, the company introduced the LTE variant of the tablet as well which are available in two configurations, starting at $599 for the 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the more powerful 4GB RAM variant carries a $699 price tag.
In case you can’t recall, the folks at Microsoft and its Surface team held an AMA (Ask me anything) on Reddit to answer Surface-related questions. There were a lot of interesting questions with one of them being the launch of the unlocked LTE variant for international markets.
For users interested in picking up the unlocked Surface 3 LTE, there’s a piece of good and bad news for you. The good news is, the company working on an internationally unlocked model which will launch in several markets. Coming over to the bad news, the Surface team didn’t reveal an exact availability date for the tablet or which markets they will launch in. But, it should hit major markets where the Surface is already available through official channels.

We are doing an unlocked LTE version. Can’t say where it will be available yet, but we hear you and in many markets we will have it available. stay tuned for more!
The Surface 3 is a very capable tablet featuring a 10.8-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,280 pixels resolution, an Intel Atom x7 processor with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Other notable features include an 8MP camera for photos and videos, 3.5MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and will ship with a full-fledged Windows 8.1 as its operating system. The standard WiFi version starts at $499, which is a very competitive price for the tablet. Furthermore, the tablet also comes with support for the Surface pen as well as a Type cover.
