Microsoft has announced the Lumia 735 will hit retail in Australia for $399 off-contract. Postpaid customers will be able to get their hands on the selfie focused handset for plans starting at $30 a month.

Microsoft introduced the budget-friendly Lumia 730 and 735 at IFA 2014 in Berlin. Both devices are identically the same, except the 4G LTE connectivity support on the Lumia 735. There’s a 4.7-inch display sporting a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and Adreno 330 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).

The handset features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, coupled with a microSD card slot for expansion of up to 128GB. It’s 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera is said to be better than its competitors, and can capture high-definition videos as well. Other features include a 6.7MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2,200 mAh battery and runs Windows Phone 8.1 Denim update out of the box.

As far as the availability is concerned, the handset will hit the retail shelves of several locations and Vodafone from October 1st. The software giant also confirmed that Lumia 830 will also hit Australia in the coming weeks, but didn’t give out an exact availability date.
