Microsoft Flight Simulator X Steam Edition now 80% off on Steam for a limited time

If you’re familiar with Valve’s Steam, you know that the online game store constantly runs discounts on the games it offers, and today as part of its Weekend Deals, you can download Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition for 80% off!

Despite the name, Microsoft sold its Flight Simulator licensing rights to Dovetail Games last year. Dovetail then slightly modified the simulator and re-released it with the Steam Edition insignia. Dovetail also re-introduced multiplayer gameplay to the simulator which ceased to work when GameSpy shut its servers down. Flight Simulator X remains one of the most supported flight simulators out there thanks to support from the community and third-party developers still releasing add-ons for it.

You can download Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition for just $4.99 (down from $24.99) over the course of the weekend. If you haven’t done so already, this is your chance to get your hands on Microsoft’s final installment of the critically acclaimed Flight Simulator franchise. Happy flying!
