Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available on Xbox Series X|S consoles, and the game is also free to play with Xbox Game Pass. Nearly a year after its launch on PC, developer Asobo Studios did a fine job at optimizing the very demanding game for Series X and Series S consoles, and Microsoft Flight Simulator is definitely one of the best-looking games you can play on Microsoft’s latest Xbox consoles right now.

“With the power of satellite data from Bing Maps and cloud-based AI using Azure, you’ll travel the entire planet in amazing detail with over 37 thousand airports, 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountain ranges, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic, and more. Simmers can expect the same level of depth as the PC version, with the most authentic and realistic flight simulator we have ever created and available to the widest audience ever,” explained Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

With a 92 score on Metacritic, the Xbox Series X|S version of Microsoft Flight Simulator is the most critically-acclaimed Xbox Game Studios title released since the beginning of this new console generation. It’s really great to see such an old franchise launch on consoles for the first time, and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S is really accessible with optimized controls, Screen Narrator support, and new features such as Discovery Flights, training flights, enhanced landing gear, and more.

If you missed it yesterday, we invite you to read our hands-on with Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X. Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S is priced at $59.99 on the Microsoft Store, and the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-save and cross-play support with the PC version released last year. If you’ve been playing the game on PC, a major update has also been released today bringing improved multi-core support for CPU and better memory and GPU usage.
