Microsoft is set to release the new Xbox One entertainment console this November and the devices/services giant initially promised the device would be released in 21 different countries. However, today, Microsoft has revealed that this promise has changed to just thirteen countries.
During the E3 entertainment expo this year, Microsoft revealed that the Xbox One console would be available in 21 different markets worldwide. This was Microsoft’s “aggressive goal” and the company claims to have been working very hard to deliver the Xbox One to as many markets as possible. Unfortunately, Microsoft had to cut eight of those markets from its initial launch.
“Our priority is ensuring our customers get the best Xbox One experience the first day it is available. To do that, and in order to meet demand, we have adjusted the number of markets that will receive Xbox One in November to 13 markets, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand, in November,” Microsoft stated.
So there you have it. If you are in any of the listed countries, you will get a chance to snag the Xbox One before anyone else. The eight countries that were cut from the list are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, and these countries will see the console in 2014.
The reason? Microsoft wants to make sure that the Xbox One dashboard is fully localized, additional voice and languages are incorporated, and partnerships are built to bring apps and local content for each country. Those who pre-ordered the console in any of the eight listed countries will receive a free game when the console launches next year.
