In an official blog post today, Microsoft has confirmed that the highly anticipated Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update will finally be here in the next week or two. Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is expected to bring over 500 new features and is the company’s hope to change things around for an ill-fated platform.
“For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status,” Microsoft’s Eric Hautala stated.
Microsoft is also encouraging Windows Phone handset owners to keep away from leaked updates.
“During the official Windows Phone 7.5 update process, every Windows Phone will also receive software from the handset manufacturer. This matched and paired firmware has been painstakingly tuned so your phone—and apps—work with all the new features of Windows Phone 7.5. Since your phone requires the proper firmware to function as designed, my advice is simple: steer clear of bootleg updates and homebrew tools.”

Mango was recently released to manufacturing and handset makers are working hard to make sure necessary patches are in place so things are ready to go.
‘Mango’ will feature an updated user interface with the intentions of “making it easier for the user to launch, to search, to find, to buy and to install” apps. The update will also feature a 25% improvement in memory efficiency and support for deep links into application content. We will also see a feature called Live Agents as well as better multitasking. IE9 will also be making an appearance in the update.
