Microsoft confirms a flagship device to launch later this year

\

In the past few months, Microsoft has launched a handful of Windows Phone devices, but a majority of those target the entry-level segment of the market. Just last week, the company revealed the entry-level Lumia 532 and Lumia 435, but it’s been a while since we saw any high-end device from the folks at Redmond. The current flagship are the Lumia 930 and the older Lumia 1520, but the hardware they offer are not good enough to go one-on-one against the Android flagships.

Fret not as Microsoft as confirmed the company is committed to launch flagship Windows 10 devices later this year. At the end of yesterday’s keynote, Executive Vice President Terry Myerson said that Microsoft would be introducing a number of devices later this year, “including, yes, new flagship Windows Phones”. The confirmation should come as a good news for customers who are waiting for something high-end from Microsoft.

\

In the past few weeks we’ve seen a handful of rumors hinting at the launch of the successor of the camera-centric Lumia 1020, but there’s no concrete proof of its existence yet.

\

Let’s just wait, we’ll update you as soon as we hear anything more about these mysterious flagship devices.
