Microsoft to compile the Windows 8 Release Preview on 24th May?

According to a source who has access to private Windows 8 builds, Microsoft is expected to compile Windows 8 within the next 12 days. The user has said that there is 12 days left for employees to test and vote, before they compile the final build for the Release Preview.

A user by the name of Canouna has said today that Microsoft is planning to complete the testing and voting of the next major public release of Windows 8. The Release Preview is expected to be compiled in 12 days, according to the post.

If this is true, then the Release Preview will be ready a full week or two before it’s actually released to the public, just like the Windows 8 Consumer Preview was.

Remember to treat this with a grain of salt, as it could be false since it is not coming from official Microsoft representatives.

The Windows 8 Release Preview is expected to launch as a “feature-complete” build, meaning that what you see in the Release Preview will more or less be the same in the RTM. The Release Preview is expected to launch sometime in the first week of June this year.
