Microsoft’s Build event often brings us a glimpse of some of the company’s most important upcoming technologies. Build 2015 was chock-full of Microsoft goodness, with new HoloLens material, Continuum for Windows 10 Mobile, iOS and Android app porting, and much more covered during the conference. Yes, Build is meant mainly for developers, but the entire tech world watches closely to see what tools those developers will have to work with.

This year, Build 2016 is being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on March 30-April 1, 2016. We have word from the MSDN blog this morning that registration for the event, which typically sells out rather immediately, begins on January 19.

Microsoft continues to focus on enabling developers to do amazing work as businesses and industries transform in support of the shift to a cloud-first, mobile-first world. As we kick off 2016 our investment in platforms and tools that support developers continues to expand. We’ve seen a new generation of mobile devices and the scale of Windows 10 grow to more than 200 million devices since launch. We’ve also seen nearly 100,000 new subscribers per month on Azure, and we are always adding new features including the extension of data and machine learning as new platform services. And lastly to the continued extension of Office 365 as a platform for developers to build on top of to reach over 60 million subscribers.

Build 2016 isn’t free for attendees, with attendance costing a significant $2,195, but those who make the investment typically find it well worth the money spent. Sign up now to be included on the mailing list for Build 2016 announcements, and start saving your pennies if you plan to attend. We plan to be in attendance and will bring you breaking news as it happens, because we’re just as impatient to know what’s going on as you are.
