Microsoft Australia slashes 00 on Surface Pro 2 tablets

Folks living in United States and Canada can get the new Surface Pro 3 tablet from Microsoft Store and several other retailers. But if you’re living in Australia, the device isn’t hitting your nation until August. However, if you want to grab the previous generation Surface Pro 2, there’s a good news for you. Microsoft has officially slashed the price of the previous generation tablet by $100.

The revised prices will come in effect from tomorrow, and will be available in both online, and brick and mortar stores. Microsoft has assured that retailers like Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi will also run this discount — you should definitely check them out since they might offer better deals. Also, you can also save $50 off a Touch or Type cover 2 when you buy with a Surface 2.

For a refresher, Surface Pro 2 was released last year. It sports a 10.1inch screen with 1080p full HD screen resolution. It is powered by Core i3/i5 processor and packs 4 gigs of RAM. It runs on Windows 8.1 Pro.

Do note that even after the price cut, Surface Pro 3 costs only $50 more than Surface Pro 2. Would you prefer the previous generation Surface Pro 2 over the new one? Let us know in the comments.
