Microsoft has announced the integration of its Immersive Reader tool with more of its apps and services. The company first started rolling out the accessibility feature to Outlook for the web back in 2017, and it’s now available in Outlook for desktop, Teams for iOS and Android, OneDrive, as well as SharePoint.

Like its web counterpart, the Immersive Reader feature for the Outlook desktop app helps users read and write emails. Users will be able to enable the Immersive Reader to read an email message by heading to the View tab and then clicking the “Immersive Reader” option. The feature is also accessible when composing an email in Outlook, and it should make it easier for users to write better emails. Immersive Reader for Outlook for desktop is currently available for Office 365 users in the Current Channel, and its rollout will continue to the Semi-Annual Channel later this year.

In addition, Microsoft says that the accessibility tool is now generally available in its OneDrive storage service. This means that users can now open their Word documents and other text files in the Immersive Reader mode as well as customize the line spacing, background colors, and more. The feature has also been added to SharePoint pages for all commercial and education tenants.

Last but not least, Immersive Reader also became available on the Microsoft Teams mobile apps in both chats and channels. The company says that the addition of the accessibility tool to the iOS and Android versions of Teams has been a highly requested one. It should make it easier for students and other users to collaborate on projects with a smartphone or tablet.
