MEGA for Windows Phone receives major update, but you can't download it just yet

MEGA, a popular cloud storage service which is best known for its advanced level encryption and 50GB of free storage offerings, has just snagged a major update on Windows Phone. Sadly, the app’s listing doesn’t offer any details of the new features MEGA has snagged, and worse, it doesn’t let you download it from the Store just yet.

In a world where growing number of people are becoming cautious about their privacy (thanks Snowden!), MEGA has been trying to capitalize on that need with its advanced level encryption feature. “Neither MEGA, your Internet provider, a search engine, your insurance company or a government can access [your data],” the app’s description reads. And the 50GB free storage space, which is more than what OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive offers, is pretty enticing too!

In the recent update, the app now shows a notification which keeps a log of all the ongoing file transfers. It also offered bug fixes in folders, viewmode, dialog box, and bin, and added a quick swipe option to logout.

The latest update v2.0 is available for download right now. In some other news, MEGA Limited, is also working on a video chat service called MEGA Chat which will offer features including file transfer support. Kim Dotcom, the owner of the firm, which you may remember as the guy who bribed Lizard Squad recently to stop the attack on Xbox Live and PSN gaming networks, is touting the MEGA Chat as a Skype killer!
